Job Description:

Medical Interpreter – Bi-lingual (Spanish)

Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Inc. is looking for a talented Medical Interpreter to step into our culturally diverse and fast-paced facility!

Summary: The Medical Interpreter provides the necessary bi-lingual (Spanish) translation to facilitate effective communication between staff and patients.

Hours: This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work a flexible schedule. General hours would be between 8:00am and 7:30pm, Monday – Friday with rotating Saturdays.

Position Responsibilities/Duties:

• Performs the necessary translation between English and Spanish language in order to ensure effective communication between staff and patient in either verbal or written format
• Maintains the utmost confidentiality with all information translated
• Answers phones and records messages
• Performs other duties as assigned by Practice Manager

Experience and Skills:

• Bi-lingual - Fluent in English and Spanish
• 1 to 2 years of related work experience in a medical setting
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certificate or diploma from a medical training course preferred
