Job Description:

Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement Specialist 

Summary: The QI/QA Specialist assist the QI/QA team with ensuring compliance with applicable requirements including Federal Office of Inspector General (OIG), Health Resource and Service Administration (HRSA) and local County Division of Public Health. The QI/QA Specialist assist in ensuring adherence to all regulations and standards regarding Quality Assurance and is responsible to receiving, investigating and rectifying patient complaints. 

Position Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Reviews, investigates, completes and corresponds with external audits and information requests.
  • Establishes and performs monthly compliance self audit checklists for pertinent NJ regulations governing SJFMC programs for all locations.
  • Understands and uses business related computer programs, and is conversant with programs used by the company.
  • Ensures that audits are conducted in accordance with an approved schedule according to the centers’ Quality Assurance and Health Care plans.
  • Assist with the evaluation of the quality type, and level of services being provided by service programs with a consumer-based satisfaction survey.
  • Responds to patient complaints by phone and in writing. 
  • Trends patient complaint data and suggest process improvement 
  • Recommend, develop, and implement performance and quality improvement plans with service-based programs in the organization.
  • Assist with preparation and development of quality improvement reports, presentations, and supplemental data reports.
  • Assist with management of the data review process to ensure accuracy and integrity of data reports to meet quality improvement standards.
  • Train providers and staff in methodologies and tools of performance and quality improvement.
  • Assist with facilitation of quarterly quality improvement meetings (QI, Risk Management, and QA Committees).
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.



Experience and Skills:

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field 
  • 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting is highly desired
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations
  • Strong computer skills
  • Clear and concise writing, presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and proactively under minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel
